Weston Youth Innovation Award
Get your students innovating. The Ontario Science Centre presents its second annual Weston Youth Innovation Award to encourage and recognize young Canadian inventors. Students aged 14 to 18 can work individually or in teams to use science and or technology to solve real-world problems, for example, climate change or energy conservation. Students must put their ideas into action, demonstrating a positive impact either in their own community or on a broader scale.
The winning design will be displayed in the Weston Family Innovation Centre at the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto. In addition, the winner will receive a $2,000 cash prize and recognition on the Science Centre’s website. Entries will be judged on demonstration of the characteristics of innovation: inspiration, creativity, collaboration, risk-taking and problem-solving. Submissions for this year’s awards are being accepted until January 31, 2010.
